Alexandra Kiesel shows awesome designs in summerlike colours - Fashion Week Berlin A/W 2012/13 - day 1

My last show of day one was the debut collection of Alexandra Kiesel “support your local heroes”. Last time she was the winner of the Designer for Tomorrow award that was hosted by Marc Jacobs. Seasons? Who cares seemed to be the motto of Alexandra Kiesel. A collection that was fresh and colourful like a fruit basket  was presented on the runway. Strong contrasting colour combinations and geometric shapes are the sign of her work. It seems that a bit of her passion for her work has been manufactured in each piece. Alexandra Kiesel’s collection is probably the best way to fight against the sad autumn/winter time. My favourite piece was a short dress in an amazing green combined with orange. Special here was the use of leather on the shoulders. In her collection she decided to cooperate with 6 different artists from Berlin. She picked their illustrations like forks and spoons or floral patterns and printed them on the fabric as well as on the shoes. A wonderful cooperation that was perfect in combination with her summerlike colours. Normally she wears a shirt with the following statement printed on: Marc loves me. Now she needs one with “look-scout loves me”. Chapeau Alexandra! For all pictures press more
