The German design duo Livia Ximénez-Carillo and Christine Pluess are the women behind the successful label Mongrels in Common. Since their first collection they have become one of those brands nobody wants to miss when he talks about visiting the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin. This collection is called “Stevie Wonder in Iceland”. The question behind this title was the idea of how a blind artist discovers an outstanding country. So the collection and the show was more like a journey. It was a show that presented a strong and masculine woman. Pantsuits are the most important fashion pieces of this collection. Always a bit dark and mystic but still intense was my first thought after the last model left the runway. Dark colours were interrupted by dresses, tops and blouses in a wonderful mystic and unique colour combination that seemed not to be from this world. This time both designers focused on using different material. They wanted to have a huge structure variety to reflect and to let the viewer enjoy the journey. Result: clean and reduced with new and typical Mongrels in Common elements. For all pictures press more
