Piece of the Day // Leather Biker Jacket by Simon Spurr

First thing that comes in my mind when I find a piece like this asymmetrical biker jacket from Simon Spurr is: "Please let me win the lottery". Since a long time I´m a big fan of this New York based designer and always love to browse through his online store. My current favorite is this biker jacket in burgundy deerskin leather. The color in combination with the ribbed shoulder and elbow details looks stunning. The futuristic design captured my attention and is one of the reasons why hard was bleeding to read that the piece is already out of stock. I hope that we will once have a Simon Spurr store in Germany.

Der erste Gedanke der mir in den Kopf kommt, wenn ich ein Stück wie diese asymmetrische Bikerjacke von Simon Spurr entdecke, ist die Hoffnung auf einen kleinen Lottogewinn. Seit langem bin ich ein Fan, des in New York ansässigem Designer und liebe es mich durch den Onlinestore zu klicken. Mein derzeitiges Lieblingsstück ist die Bikerjacke in Burgunder aus Hirschleder. Der Farbton in Kombination mit den gerippten Schulter und Ellbogenelementen sieht fantastisch aus. Das futuristische Design fesselt mich und ist einer der Gründe die mein Herz bluten lässt, denn das Stück ist bereits nicht mehr auf Lager vorrätig. Daher hoffe ich, dass wir schnell einen Simon Spurr Store in Deutschland haben werden.

Piece of the Day // Elie Saab Haute Couture Bridal Dress - with Chantilly-Lace and Embroideries

Since a long time I´m a big fan of Elie Saab. Today I was watching the autumn/winter Haute Couture fashion show and was blown away as Ieva Marija Rume entered the runway as closing model with this breathtaking bridal dress. Somehow I feel a bit ashamed to call it a piece, because it seems more to be a real masterpiece of art. Even though I know that most of us never will be able to buy a dress like that I think it is amazing to look at it and being inspired. In Constantinople's Wake was the title of this show. His dress with its Chantilly lace and gold leafed fabrics with embroideries looked amazing and reflects the name of the collection.

Seit langem bin ich ein riesen Fan von Elie Saab. Heute guckte ich mir die Herbst/Winter Haute Couture 2012 Fashion Show and und war sprachlos als Ieva Marija Rume den Laufsteg als Schlussmodel in einem atemberaubendem Brautkleid betrat. Irgendwie schäme ich mich fast dieses Kunstwerk banal als Kleid zu bezeichnen. Vielmehr ist es ein wahr gewordenes Kunstwerk. Obwohl ich weis, dass die Meisten von uns nie in der Lage sein werden sich so einen modischen Traum leisten zu können, finde ich es immer faszinierend mich davon inspirieren zu lassen. In Konstantinopels Sog war der Titel der Fashion Show. Elie Saab´s Kleid aus Chantilly-Seide und golddurchzogenen Stoffen mit unzähligen Stickereien sah fantastisch aus und spiegelte die Idee hinter der Show bravourös wieder.
